This Friday the Consumer Contracts Regulations come into force bringing a host of changes which are good for the consumer, but will you be compliant?
If you're selling to consumers there are new rules about what information you have to give to buyers before purchasing, what happens if they change their minds, delivery costs and time-scales and changes to the types of phone number you can use to offer customer support post purchase.
Basically if you provide help over the phone this must be via an 01, 02, 03, 07 or 0800 or 0808 telephone number.
Do note the changes don't affect sales lines you can still use 0844, 0845 and 0871 numbers for initial sales enquiries. But you could be putting potential clients off, if a competitor offers a cheaper local rate phone number.
